Samuel H. Kress Foundation - History of Art Grants
Special Mobility Grant for the 36th CIHA Congress (Lyon, France, 2024)
Application deadline: January 15th, 2024
The Samuel H. Kress Foundation prioritizes grants for activities that permit art historians to share their expertise through international exchanges, conferences, symposia, research presentations and other professional events. Its History of Art Grants program supports scholarly projects that enhance the appreciation and understanding of European works of art and architecture from Antiquity to the early 19th century.
This Special Mobility Grant is intended to encourage the participation of junior researchers from US-American institutions at the 36th CIHA Congress to be held in Lyon (France), from June 23-28, 2024.
The Kress Grants are designed to enable 10 PhD students or young scholars from American institutions, whose proposal have been accepted for a session or a paper but for whom economic conditions are a hindrance, to fully participate in the five-day conference and benefit from conditions particularly favorable to their integration into the international scientific community.
The grants amount to $1,500 for each fellow, which should help cover travel, accommodation, and conference registration fees. The Congress organizers also intend to offer opportunities for exchanges and networking through specific meetings and gatherings.
