Efficient and Sustainable Charging of Electric Vehicles
Content :
Establishing a reliable ecosystem of charging infrastructure, power grids, and renewable energy generation is essential for decarbonising the transport sector. At certain locations and times, high charging power—up to several megawatts—is critical. In other cases, utilising surplus energy from wind and solar as it is generated can make transportation systems more efficient in both emissions and cost.
Aligning renewable energy supply with demand is a key capability known as "flexibility," which EV drivers, fleet owners and operators, charge point operators, and automotive OEMs must consider. Mobile vehicle batteries, combined with grid-scale batteries near charging stations, can help balance an electricity system increasingly powered by renewable energy sources like wind and solar, which fluctuate based on weather conditions.
The keynote will highlight economics, business models and skills essential for succeeding in this environment and give specific advice to the various actors in this industry.
